Plans for Port Royal > and the Beach Management Plan > and the Traffic Management Plan

Local government is suffering severely from lack of cash - and this isn't going to get any better:
Futures Forum: Local government finance: "It looks as though we’re approaching a cliff edge and no one has any idea how to stop us hurtling over it.”

One way out of this impasse is to sell assets:

Futures Forum: Plans for Port Royal 2009: "We are desperate for someone to buy this site and to give us good money for it."

- but unfortunately for the District Council the assets at Port Royal do not look very inviting to prospective buyers:

And then there is the question of covenants:

There are two related issues which need to be addressed before any decisions can be made on the future development of the site:

Sidmouth's Beach Management Plan - which is currently full of contradictions and need serious clarification:
Futures Forum: Beach Management Plan >>> frequently asked questions >>> last updated 6th September: and still fail to address explicitly the arguments against and in favour of offshore reefs to create a self-sustaining sand tombolo

And Sidmouth's Traffic Management Plan - which has been in the offing for a decade now:
Futures Forum: Traffic Management Plan for Sidmouth: "We have a golden opportunity to address Sidmouth's future traffic and transport issues which will help improve everyone's quality of life and shopping experience."

These issues are all interrelated, as a letter to the Herald from the Futures Forum chair indicates:
