Knowle relcoation project: "It is very nice to be at Knowle but it is too big for what we need"

There has been quite a debate around the impacts of devolution on the West Country:

Futures Forum: Knowle relocation project: and the longer-term demise of district councils...

However, the messages coming out of the District Council have been somewhat contradictory:

Futures Forum: Knowle relocation project: and the longer-term demise of district councils...... part six: "I think we will see economic groupings rather than political ones.”

The CEO of the District Council recently addressed a meeting in Sidmouth - at which several pertinent points were made:

> That 'if and when' a unitary council emerges, its HQ will be in Exeter...
... Which appears to contradict the pressing need to relocate from Knowle:
Futures Forum: Knowle relocation project: and the longer-term demise of district councils... part three: Skypark and "the full economic potential of Exeter"
Futures Forum: Knowle relocation project: and the longer-term demise of district councils... part five... East Devon District Council "will imminently have no alternative whatsoever than to integrate anyway."

> That the current HQ at Knowle is 'far too big'...
... Which appears to contradict the notion of moving into the modern half of Knowle:
