Bradfords Building Supplies was officially opened by Lord Clinton, whose Clinton Devon Estates is developing the Liverton 2 site behind its existing Liverton Business Park, off Salterton Road. Liverton 2 is designed to provide 10,000 square metres of employment space for the light industry, storage and distribution sector.
Clinton Devon Estates’ head of property and land, Leigh Rix, said: “This marks the culmination of years of planning and development work on our new business park. “To see trading begin, bringing with it new opportunities to Exmouth and the wider area, is a proud moment for both Bradfords and Clinton Devon Estates.”
Bradfords already has outlets in Exeter, Honiton and Seaton, but this is its first outlet in Exmouth. Bradfords managing director Dennis Smith said: “Exmouth has been a missing jigsaw piece in our South West network and we were prepared to wait to find the right premises in the right place. “I am confident that we have found this at Liverton 2 and we look forward to offering our customers, both existing customers and new ones, a first rate service in a first rate location.”

The plan is to create more employment opportunities:

East Devon District Council's Portfolio Holder for Strategic Planning and Regeneration, Councillor Ray Franklin, said: "This is very exciting news for Exmouth and for the wider East Devon economy. We are keen to bring forward more employment land for the town, both because of the potential for new employers to move in and also to allow the flexibility for companies and organisations to move to Liverton from other sites, so freeing these up for re-development. The expanded business park will also be easy for local people to access on foot and by bike, so offering the chance of greener commuting for some".

Indeed, this has been promoted by the District Council and forms part of its long-term planning strategy:
